How to Know Jesus
God created you; He loves you, and
He wants to have a personal relationship with you
"“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
He doesn’t force you to love Him or be in a relationship with Him.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me" Revelation 3:20
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God." John 1:12-13

God created us to know Him, love Him, and live in relationship with Him. But there is a problem: we are sinners. Instead of living according to God’s will, we turn away from Him and choose our own way. The Bible tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Our sin separates us from God and keeps us from the life with Him that we were created to enjoy.
We often recognize that something is missing and try to fill that emptiness in all kinds of ways. Some people look for fulfillment in relationships, success, possessions, pleasure, or achievement.
Others try to make themselves right with God by being religious or doing good things—going to church, giving to charity, helping others, or simply trying to be a good person.
But none of those things can solve our deepest problem. Scripture tells us, “There is none righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10). We cannot make ourselves right with God. No amount of good works can erase our sin, repair our broken relationship with God, or earn us eternal life. We need something we cannot provide for ourselves.
We need God to save us.
Our sin separates us from God and keeps us from the life with Him that we were created to enjoy.

Here is the Good News!
Since there is nothing we can do to work our way to God, God came to us. The Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
That is the incredible message of the gospel. We were separated from God by our sin and completely unable to save ourselves, but God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do for us what we could never do for ourselves.
Jesus lived the sinless life that we could not live, and then willingly went to the cross in our place.
There He took upon Himself the punishment that our sins deserved. He died the death that we deserved to die so that we could receive the life that only He can give.
The Bible says that God “made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus took our place.
He bore our sin.
He paid our debt.
And then, on the third day, He rose from the dead, demonstrating His victory over sin and death.
Salvation is possible not because of anything we have done for God, but because of what Jesus Christ has done for us.

Jesus took upon Himself the sin penalty that we deserved
He placed it upon Himself.
He died in our place.
The wonderful news of the gospel is that you can be forgiven and made right with God through Jesus Christ. You do not have to earn God’s forgiveness, and you could never be good enough to deserve it. Salvation is a gift that God freely offers to you through faith in His Son.
Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
The Bible explains it this way:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
Salvation is by God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. You cannot earn it. You cannot work your way to it. You simply receive the gift God has provided through His Son.
Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
The Bible explains it this way:

Salvation does not come from saying the right words or repeating a particular prayer.
We are saved by God’s grace when we place our faith in Jesus Christ—trusting in His death and resurrection rather than ourselves or anything we could ever do.
If you are ready to turn from your sin and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can tell Him that in your own words.
If you are unsure what to say, this prayer can help you express what is in your heart:
“God, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I know that my sin has separated me from You and that I deserve Your judgment. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sin and place my trust in Jesus Christ alone to save me. Please forgive me, make me new, and help me to follow You with my life. Thank You for Your grace, Your forgiveness, and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Remember, the prayer does not save you—Jesus does.
Salvation is found in Christ alone, and God promises that “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
The Bible says, “Repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15), and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).
