How to Know Jesus
God created you; He loves you, and
He wants to have a personal relationship with you
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
He doesn’t force you to love Him or be in a relationship with Him.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me" Revelation 3:20
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God." John 1:12-13

God made us to know Him, love Him, and have a relationship with Him. But we face a problem: we are sinners. Rather than following God’s will, we often go our own way. The Bible says, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Our sin separates us from God and keeps us from the life with Him that we were meant to enjoy.
We often recognize that something is missing and try to fill that emptiness in different ways. Some look for fulfillment in relationships, success, possessions, pleasure, or achievements.
Others try to make things right with God by being religious or doing good things, such as going to church, giving to charity, helping others, or just trying to be a good person.
But none of these things can solve our deepest problem. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10). We cannot make ourselves right with God. No amount of good works can erase our sin, fix our broken relationship with God, or earn us eternal life. We need something we cannot give ourselves.
We need God to save us.

Here is the Good News!
Because we cannot reach God on our own, God came to us. The Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
This is the amazing message of the gospel. Our sin separated us from God, and we could not save ourselves. But God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do what we could never do.
Jesus lived the perfect life we could not, and then chose to go to the cross for us.
There, He took the punishment our sins deserved. He died in our place so we could receive the life that only He can give.
The Bible says that God “made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus took our place.
He carried our sin.
He paid our debt.
On the third day, He rose from the dead, showing His victory over sin and death.
We can be saved not because of what we have done for God, but because of what Jesus Christ has done for us.

Jesus took upon Himself the sin penalty that we deserved
He placed it upon Himself.
He died in our place.
The Gospel brings good news: you can be forgiven and have a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You don’t have to earn God’s forgiveness, and none of us could ever deserve it. God offers salvation as a free gift to anyone who puts their faith in His Son.
Jesus is the only way to be reconciled with God. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
The Bible puts it this way:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
Salvation comes by God’s grace and is received through faith in Jesus Christ. You can’t earn it or work your way to it. You just accept the gift God gives through His Son.

God invites us to respond to the good news about Jesus Christ by turning away from our sins and putting our faith in Him.
The Bible says, “Repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15), and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Salvation is not about saying the perfect words or repeating a specific prayer.
We are saved by God’s grace when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, trusting in His death and resurrection instead of relying on ourselves or anything we could do.
If you are ready to turn from your sin and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can tell Him that in your own words.
If you are unsure what to say, this prayer can help you express what is in your heart:
“God, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I know that my sin has separated me from You and that I deserve Your judgment. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sin and place my trust in Jesus Christ alone to save me. Please forgive me, make me new, and help me to follow You with my life. Thank You for Your grace, Your forgiveness, and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Remember, the prayer does not save you—Jesus does.
Salvation is found in Christ alone, and God promises that “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
The Bible says, “Repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15), and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).

Remember, the prayer does not save you—Jesus does.

you have a relationship with God!
You need to learn about your new life.
The best way to do that is to meet others who have placed their faith and trust in Him and who also have a personal relationship with Jesus.
